Create your account

Confirm your email during setup so your collection, private label photos, AI scan allowance, and shared-vault access stay connected to you.

  • Use a unique password with at least eight characters.
  • Check Settings for the latest cloud-sync time.
  • Use Forgot password if you ever lose access.
02

Add a bottle

Tap Add Bottle in the center of the bottom menu. Take a label photo for AI recognition, choose an existing photo, or enter the bottle manually.

  • Bottle Vault Free includes 20 lifetime successful AI label scans.
  • Manual bottle entry is unlimited.
  • A manual entry can still include a label photo without using AI.
03

Review the details

AI-generated details are editable suggestions. Check the producer, bottle name, vintage, category, region, price estimate, and suggested drinking window before saving.

  • A failed label recognition attempt is not counted.
  • Enter the quantity once for identical bottles.
  • One label photo can represent every copy in that quantity.
04

Build your storage

Create a cellar, refrigerator, rack, or spirits cabinet and match the layout to the storage you actually own.

  • Rows are numbered.
  • A row can be single-depth or have different front-and-back capacities.
  • Rename and edit storage whenever your layout changes.
05

Place or keep unplaced

Choose an exact open section after saving a bottle. If there is no rack space, keep it in Unplaced Bottles until a section becomes available.

  • Place each physical copy separately.
  • Move a bottle without changing its collection record.
  • Tap a bottle location to jump directly to its cellar position.
06

Find a bottle quickly

Search the whole collection or a single cellar by bottle name, vintage, varietal, grape, or drink-by date.

  • Sort newest to oldest or oldest to newest.
  • Sort by drink-by date to see what to consider first.
  • Search Active Collection, Consumed History, Unplaced Bottles, or an individual cellar.
07

Drink and remember

Open a bottle to review its details and location. Tap Drink when you open it so inventory decreases and the bottle is preserved in Consumed History.

  • Add tasting notes, pairings, ratings, and memories as Insights.
  • Insights appear on the bottle and in the Insights section.
  • Treat drinking windows as guidance and edit them when needed.
08

Share your vault

Invite another Bottle Vault account as an editor or viewer. The invitee must use the same email address that received the invitation.

  • Editors can add, place, move, and document bottles.
  • Viewers can browse but cannot change the vault.
  • Each person should use their own password.
09

Free and Premium

The free plan includes unlimited manual bottle entry and 20 lifetime successful AI label scans. Premium adds 100 AI label scans each month and Premium collection tools.

  • Your manually entered collection remains available after free scans are used.
  • Manage or restore a subscription from Settings.
  • Billing is handled by the App Store or Google Play.
